Letterbox Gifts

How long will letterbox gifts take to arrive?

We aim to dispatch all orders within one business day, utilising Royal Mail first class service. Please note owing to the current Covid-19 situation there may be some slight delays.

Can letterbox gifts be returned?

We are unable to accept refunds on these items, please contact us if you experience difficulty with your order.

Cakes

How long will my cakes stay fresh for?

All cakes are made without artifical preservatives and always recommend eating buttercream cakes on the day provided to enjoy them at their finest, should you need your cake the day before the event, you may store them at room temperature or in the fridge if the weather is very warm. When storing cakes in the fridge, please allow them to come to room temperature before serving, this can range from an hour to several hours if this is a large cake.

Do not refrigerate any cake covered in sugarpaste, these will remain at their best for five days but will turn into a sticky mess if placed in the fridge! 

What size cakes do you provide?

All bespoke cakes are available as either 6, 8 or 10 inch with three or four layers, sandwiched together with your chosen flavour of buttercream. All sugarpaste covered cakes will have a ganache layer underneath to enable a smoother finish of sugarpaste. We use a highly sought after massa ticino sugarpaste to cover our cakes, ideal for holding up in warmer temperatures.

Do you cater for allergies?

All cakes, can be made dairy free, gluten free or vegan, please note that these are made in a home kitchen and whilst a strict cleaning schedule is undertaken, we cannot be held responsible for any cross contimination. All products may contain nuts.

How much notice do you need ?

As much as possible! Big Happy Thoughts is a small home based business and capacity is limited. During the current Covid19 climate, these orders will remain at 2-4 slots per week, until a more normal working pattern can be established. Please do not delay in getting in touch if you would like to discuss a cake order.

Do you deliver?

We deliver free within Linton and within a 10 mile radius, any further deliveries will be charged at £0.95 per mile. Alternatively you are welcome to collect from Linton at a pre agreed mutually convenient time.  

How should I travel my cake once I have collected?

We advise all cakes to travel in the footwell of the passenger seat, never attempt to hold a cake on your lap or wedged on the backseat. We will not be held responsible for any cakes once they have left our property.

Payment

At time of order, a 30% non refundable booking fee is required to secure your order, with the remaining balance due on or up to 5 days before collection/delivery. All payments are to be made online via bank transfer, an invoice will be sent. We do not accept cash on collection/delivery.
